Let's start, real me is getting well known for its mid-range phones and one of the latest to come our way is the real me x3 superzoom is being marketed as a camera phone it's name comes from it's five times zoom lens so ours cameras all they're cracked up to be and how about the rest of the package. Let's find out in our real me x3 super zoom review the x3 superzoom sleek and eye-catching design language is really close to what we've seen from real me lately it's made of glass with a frame that appears to be metal but we suspect is plastic ours is the arctic white color the glass is a silky matte finish that feels great to the touch and doesn't attract fingerprints so easily one notable accent is a gold border around one of the cameras the phone's namesake periscope zoom cam it's not just the telephoto cam which makes the x3 super zoom standout it also has a 120 Hertz high refresh rate LCD screen with a 1080p resolution some people would have preferred an OLED but there's nothing inherently wrong with an LCD.

This is one though isn't the best we've seen we appreciate the high refresh rate which makes moving objects on the screen look much smoother however the display brightness can only go as high as four hundred and forty minutes which is not enough on a bright sunny day the contrast ratio is nothing to write home about either at least the colors are quite accurate if you tweak them in settings for audio you get a single bottom firing loudspeaker unlike some other phones from real me that offer a stereo setup measured loudness is very good here and sound quality is decent but nothing spectacular there is no headphone jack on the x3 superzoom so using headphones involves plugging into the USB C port or going wireless you can keep plenty of songs on the device as it comes with 128 or 256 GB of storage onboard but that's it it isn't expandable for unlocking the phone.

The x3 super zooms fingerprint reader is located on the side power button and it works decently well like other recent real me phones the x3 super zoom runs real me UI over Android 10. It shares a lot of traits with a sister company Oppo is color OS but with a shift toward a more stock Android look. There is a lot provided through Google services but the multimedia apps such as gallery music and videos come from real me there's an app drawer to store your apps in and the overall interface feels straightforward and clutter free and there's a smart sidebar that can hold custom actions and app shortcuts at the heart of the phone is a Snapdragon 855 plus chipset which delivers performance in line with the top flagships of last year GPU is more powerful than this year's mid-range Snapdragon 765 and yet less expensive than the flagship 865 you do miss out on 5G network speeds here but performance is great about the best you can get outside of a true flagship we did notice the phone heating and throttling a bit under heavy use though the real me x3 superzoom is powered by 4200mAh power battery and it does a great job with its screen set to the high refresh rate the phone scored an endurance rating of a hundred and three hours an hour battery life tests as far as charging speed goes is pretty great though not as fast as some other real means we've tested with the bundled 30 watt dart adapter it's able to charge from zero to 62 percent in half an hour with a name like super zoom.

Real me is putting the focus on the phones cameras so let's check them out and see how it does as a camera phone the quad camera set up on the back includes a 64 megapixel quad their main can an 8 megapixel ultra wide cam 

The Namesake 5 times periscope zoom lens and a 2 megapixel macro camera in daylight 16 megapixel photos from the super zooms main camera are very good there's plenty of fine detail natural processing likable colors and wide dynamic range however there is some visible noise you can shoot in the full 64 megapixels as well and you get a little bit of extra detail however these are noisy and dynamic range is more narrow portraits are captured with the main cam and you have the choice of a regular shot or a cropped two times zoom one subject separation is competent in either mode and the D focus background quality is nice on to the super zoom part and the telephoto camera of the real Meade doesn't disappoint it captures sharp and detailed images with high contrast it shots are also somehow less noisy and cleaner than the ones coming out of the other two cams colors and dynamic range are praiseworthy as well if you want to zoom less than five times there is a two times toggle in the viewfinder but this will be a crop from the main camera with similar yet slightly lower quality the 8 megapixel ultra wide-angle can has solid performance with good detail lively colors and wide dynamic range.

There is some noise and you can sometimes see color fringing along the edges of objects now on to the macro cam. It's fixed focus so it takes some doing to get a sharp photo and even then images look rather washed out with poor dynamic range and the detail level you'd expect from 2 megapixels in low-light quality from the main cam isn't very good these photos are on the soft side and quite noisy dynamic range isn't great and exposure is dark and we're not fans of the reddish color cast around light sources night mode improves things a bit by giving the shadows a much needed boost.

But, there is littlebit stronger red color shift here. The ultra wide-angle camera's images aren't good either but they do have one redeeming quality detail is decent in the well-lit dynamic range areas which is pretty narrow though and exposures are dark overall night mode does help a little with dynamic range in the highlights but there's barely any boost in the shadows the x3 superzoom will use the telephoto cam at night it struggles here and under exposes badly night mode makes a subtle difference but it's not enough moving on to selfies there are two selfie cams here a 32 megapixel main one and an 8 megapixel ultra wide the main selfie cam takes really good shots with a ton of detail colors are pleasing and dynamic range is super wide selfies from the ultra wide have a different contrast to your look and dynamic range isn't quite as wide colors are spot-on though and these are overall pretty good selfie portraits sir just soak a subject separation looks good but since HDR is missing you can get some blown highlights in high contrast scenes now onto video recording the x3 superzoom can record and up to 4k at 60fps with the main cam 4k video is good in quality with a high level of detail and enough sharpening colors and dynamic range are excellent if you zoom in 4k the telephoto camera on kick in it will simply be a crop from the main camera or the loss in quality you'll have to be in 1080p at 30fps to shoot through the super zoom lens this footage looks quite good with nice colors contrast and detail the ultra wide-angle camera is also limited to 1080p at 30fps it's clips have limited dynamic range but the colors contrast and detail are overall quite nice electronic stabilization is supported on the main cam all the way up to 4k at 60fps and it's excellent at smoothing things out he is is also available on the other two cams and that footage is generally stable though we noticed some wobble and jitter from time to time so that's the real me x3 superzoom you get a great looking glass design a large high refresh rate LCD competitive performance great battery life with fast charging and some versatile cameras with that big zoom it all sounds pretty good right well it is until you consider that the official price tag is 500 euros at this price a flagship killer price the phone shortcomings become a bit of a problem you're missing things like stereo speakers or a headphone jack or even expandable storage the screen doesn't get bright enough and camera quality and low-light is disappointing and these are all features that a lot of people are paying attention to so overall the superzoom is a decent mid-range phone but it's pretty hard to recommend at this price the competition even devices from real me itself can offer a lot more bang for your buck.
